I studied Biochemistry and Biomedicine at the University of Delhi, India. After a PhD in Molecular Medicine in the HBRS, I now work in the Gynecology Research Unit at Hannover Medical School, investigating genomic risk factors for female cancers. Ongoing projects include the identification of novel risk variants for cancers of the cervix and endometrium through large scale genome wide association studies and meta-analyses. The identified genomic risk loci are followed up functionally in patient derived material and cell culture models, to understand mechanisms underlying the genetic risk and cancer development.
